Card tender

In the asbestos products industry, one who tends a carding machine that cleans asbestos, cotton, or other fibers; arranges fibers parallel; and transforms them from a roll or lap into a ropelike untwisted strand of cotton (sliver). Also called allye tender; card feeder; card hand; card operator; winder. DOT
