["thrown turn"]. Short for grand jeté dessus en tournant, "big turning jete over." A jump in which you leap in the air, starting with a grande battement as if you were beginning a grand jeté; but in midair, you turn around 180 degrees (by "scissoring" the legs) so you land on the other foot facing back the way you came.
