A cable notable for its resistance to moisture, but not suitable for high temperatures. The wires are tinned to prevent reaction with the sulfur in the bitumen. Outside the bitumen are layers of tape and jute, and one or two layers of steel armoring; outside each layer of steel armoring are layers of serving compound. Mason
